Event Details

The 2023 Arizona State Cornhole Championships are coming up on July 12-16, 2023 and will be hosted Hole 9 Yards Cornhole Venue in Gilbert, AZ. This event is OPEN to all Arizona residents. We are offering multiple skill level divisions so that you can play at the perfect level of competition. There will be food and beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, available. No outside food or drinks are allowed. Check out the WINNERS from the previous Arizona State Cornhole Championships. Additionally, the 2023 Arizona Cornhole Hall of Fame Inductees will be announced at this year's AZSCC  (Friday, July 14 at 7pm).

At this family-friendly event, we will be offering 21 different cornhole tournaments for all levels of players, ranging from the true beginners to the most experienced players. Read about the different levels and events below. OPEN TO ALL AZ RESIDENTS.

There is no admission attend the event as a spectator. Each event has an entry fee (listed below).

Event Details

Here is a list of the events that are available to compete in. Each division has a max number of teams/players that we can accept.

*Cornhole participants must be Arizona residents in order to compete in this event.

Register carefully. You cannot compete in two events at the same time. If you register for conflicting events and you are still in one event when the next event starts, you will be forfeited from the singles event that you are in so that your partner is not affected. When registering for doubles, register at the level of the higher skilled player on the team. You cannot play below your skill level.

Tournament Format

SINGLE ELIMINATION
The AZ Team Tournament of Champions event will be a single elimination tournament. The only teams eligible for this event are the Team format league winners from the qualifying groups.

DOUBLE ELIMINATION
All Singles events will be double elimination format and players/teams will be seeded based on 2022-2023 ACL Points.

2-GAME WARM UP W/DOUBLE ELIMINATION EVENTS
The following events will have a two game warm up round robin followed by a double elimination tournament seeded by 2022-2023 ACL Points. Blind Draws, Open doubles, Advanced, doubles, Competitive doubles, Intermediate doubles, Novice doubles, Women's doubles, Senior doubles.

TWO STAGE EVENTS
Mixed Doubles Division tournament will be TWO STAGE tournaments. Stage 1 is Round Robin where you will play 4 Rounder games against your different opponents. Results from Rounders will seed the top portion of the teams into an upper division Double Elimination tournament with 85% of the prize pool being awarded to this division. The bottom portion of the teams will be seeded into a lower division Double Elimination tournament with 15% of the prize pool being awarded to this division. Note: Trophies and Jerseys will not be awarded to the lower division winners/top teams.

Junior Singles and Doubles Divisions will be TWO STAGE tournaments. Stage 1 is Round Robin where you will play 2 Rounder games against your different opponents. Results from Rounders will seed all players into a double elimination tournament.
*Junior divisions will play from regulation 27' distance.

CREW CUP TEAM EVENT
The Crew Cup Team Event is a balanced blind draw format. All teams will be randomly drawn based on skill level. Once registration has closed, players will be rated with an A, B, C or D. Each list of names will then be randomly sorted into teams of four with each team having one player from the A, B, C and D lists. Teams will then compete in a TWO STAGE tournament. Stage 1 is Round Robin where you will play 4 games against your different opponents. Results from Rounders will seed the top portion of the teams into an upper division Double Elimination tournament with 85% of the prize pool being awarded to this division. The bottom portion of the teams will be seeded into a lower division Double Elimination tournament with 15% of the prize pool being awarded to this division. Tournament Entry Fees & Prizes

In 2022, 75+ players earn a share in nearly $22,000 in cash and prizes (trophies and champion jerseys, gift). We are expected to exceed that figure this season. Winner's of each division will earn Championship Jerseys (awarded during a presentation in the fall) and the top three teams/players in each event will earn trophies (exception: crew cup team event)
