The 2020 Arizona State Cornhole Championship will be hosted at Harrah's Phoenix, Arizona. This event is OPEN to all Arizona residents. We are offering multiple skill level divisions so that you can play at the perfect level of competition. There will be food and beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, available. No outside food or drinks are allowed. Check out the WINNERS from the previous Arizona State Cornhole Championships

Please note: This is a pre-register/pre-pay event. We will not be able to accommodate walk up registrations the day of the event.

At this family-friendly event, we will be offering FIFTEEN different cornhole tournaments for all levels of players, ranging from the true beginners to the most experienced players. Read about the different levels and events below. Intermediate and advanced division tournaments are OPEN TO ALL AZ RESIDENTS.

COVID DISCLAIMER

As of right now, masks will be required for this event. This is a Harrah's policy and one that we would implement regardless of the venue's mandates in an effort to reduce the chances of COVID transmission. This may change by mid-September but best to prepare for this possibility. Additionally, there is always the possibility that the venue will close or require a limited number of people in the venue. If one of these occurs then we will reschedule the event for the same venue for a later time. Be sure to click "Going" or "Interested" on the FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE so that you can receive the latest updates.

COVID WAIVER

Each player and guest will be REQUIRED to sign our COVID Waiver Agreement and Affirmation of Health Status prior to entering the facility. Please read and review both documents prior to arrival so that we can ensure an efficient check in process. Touch-free temperature checks will also be administered at check in. Anyone with a 104.0 or higher temperature will not be allowed to enter the venue.

Hotel Group Block

Use the GROUP BLOCK LINK or call 1-866-503-4782 (mention AZ State Cornhole Championships) to book your hotel room for Friday, Saturday or Sunday night. Rates are $169 plus tax per night. Hotel guests receive access to Harrah's gorgeous pool with a swim-up bar! Deadline to book for this room block is August 19. After that, the room block will be released and rates may go up.

Event Admission

An event wristband is required of for ALL PLAYERS AND GUESTS 13 and over in age. Purchase these when you arrive at the event. Weekend wristbands cost $10 (good for both days) and one-day wristbands are $5. The event wristband enters you into drawing for various prizes. Wristbands will be provided at the event and must be worn at all times. All cornhole participants get a 2020 Arizona State Championship memorabilia gift as part of their registration fees.

When registering for doubles, register at the level of the higher skilled player on the team. You cannot play below your skill level.

Tournament Format

Singles

All singles events are double elimination tournaments. You will play one game against your opponent throughout the tournament. 2 games guaranteed. Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 divisions will be seeded based on 2019-2020 ACL Singles Rankings.

Doubles

Tier 1 doubles tournaments will be TWO STAGE tournaments. Stage 1 is Round Robin where you will play 4 games against your different opponents. Results from Stage 1 will seed the top 16 teams into Stage 2 Single Elimination tournament. 4 games guaranteed.

Open Doubles. Teams in this event will play a six game round robin. Results from the round robin will place you into an Advanced, Competitive or Intermediate double elimination bracket. 8 games guaranteed.

Co-Ed Doubles Division tournament will be TWO STAGE tournaments. Stage 1 is Round Robin where you will play 4 games against your different opponents. Results from Stage 1 will seed the top teams into Stage 2 Single Elimination tournament. 4 games guaranteed.

Junior* and High School Division tournament format are TBD depending on the number of teams. 4 games guaranteed.
*Junior doubles will play from regulation 27' distance.

Crew Cup

The Crew Cup is a balanced blind draw format. All teams will be randomly drawn based on skill level. Once registration has closed, players will be rated with an A, B, C or D. Each list of names will then be randomly sorted into teams of four with each team having one player from the A, B, C and D lists. Teams will then compete in a TWO STAGE tournament. Stage 1 is Round Robin where you will play 4 games against your different opponents. Results from Stage 1 will seed the top portion of teams into Stage 2 Single Elimination tournament. 4 games guaranteed.

*Only one player per team needs to pay the double entry fee. Please note that there is a standard 4% finance charge added to the cost of this product at checkout.

Tournament Prizes

In 2019, 70+ players earn a share of the over $10,000 in cash and prizes (trophies and champion jerseys, gift). We are shooting to top that figure at the 2020 Arizona State Cornhole Championships! Championship Jerseys will be awarded to the champions at the 5th Annual East vs West event in December.

  • Open Doubles will pay DEEP! The prize pool will be approximately 70% (combination of cash prizes, trophies, championship jersey to the winning player and memorabilia gift for each player) with a majority going to the the teams who earn a spot in the advanced bracket after the six game round robin.
    • Advanced bracket: The top 24 teams will earn prize money in the advanced bracket
    • Competitive bracket: The top 4 teams in the competitive bracket will win prize money
    • Intermediate bracket: The top 3 teams in the intermediate bracket will win cornhole-related prizes
  • Advanced singles prize pool will be approximately 80-85% payout (cash prizes--6 players, trophies--3 players, championship jersey to the winning player and memorabilia gift for each player).
  • Competitive singles prize pool will be approximately 60-65% payout (cash prizes--6 players, trophies--3 players, championship jersey to the winning player and memorabilia gift for each player).
  • Intermediate singles prize pool will be approximately 50% payout (cash prizes--6 players, trophies--3 players, championship jersey to the winning player and memorabilia gift for each player).
  • Novice divisions (both singles and doubles): Top three places earn trophies and the players from the winning team each gets a championship jersey. There is NO CASH prizes for these divisions.
  • Crew Cup: $1,000 guaranteed prize pool. Each member of the winning team will earn a trophy and championship jersey.
  • Women's Singles: $250 guaranteed prize pool. Top three places earn trophies and the winning player each gets a championship jersey.
  • Senior Singles: $250 guaranteed prize pool. Top three places earn trophies and the winning player each gets a championship jersey.
  • Co-Ed Doubles: Top three places earn trophies and the players from the winning team each gets a championship jersey. There are NO CASH prizes for this divisions.
  • Junior: Top three places earn trophies and the players from the winning team each gets a championship jersey. There are NO CASH prizes for this divisions.
  • High School divisions: Top three places earn trophies and the players from the winning team each gets a championship jersey.There are NO CASH prizes for this divisions.
  • AZ Copper Club tournament: Each player gets free entry and an AZ Copper Club t-shirt. The winning team will split $250.

USA Cornhole

Along with the prizes awarded at the Arizona State Championships, USA Cornhole members will have the opportunity to represent Arizona in the USA Cornhole National Championships on October 16-18. The USA Cornhole members who finish the highest at the Arizona State Cornhole Championships will be invited to compete in the National Championships where the top players in that event will represent the country as part of Team USA.

  3. Highest USA Cornhole members (2) in the Advanced Doubles event

  5. State Association's picks (2)

You MUST be a USA Cornhole member prior to the start of the Arizona State Cornhole Championships in order to be eligible to be considered for the USA Cornhole National Championships. Non-Pros and ACL Pros are eligible to sign up as USA Cornhole members. Memberships can be purchased here - https://www.usa-cornhole.org/member-club (this is different than an ACL membership.

Refund Policy

All refund requests must be made by 11:59pm on Thursday, September 10. There will be no refunds given after this date/time, including no-shows or players turned away at the door with a feverish temperatures (100.4 or above).
